FLKAM Fikambanan’ Ny Lehilahy Kristiana Anglikana eto Madagascara
Today I had the wonderful opportunity and experience of spending the morning with the men's group (FLKAM) of Saint Jakoba Parish, Antalamandy. We met for retreat at one of the Christian’s houses, in a beautiful park like setting.
We worshipped together (Morning Prayer – completely sung!), read and studied the Bible together, and shared in a glorious meal (The best rice cake I’ve ever tasted!).
I lead a Bible study on Luke chapter 5:1-11, which was really fun! But the most encouraging part of the day was with the diocesan president of the men's association (FLKAM) taught us from 1 Timothy 2:8, “I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling”.
President Tiana spoke wonderfully about the call of God on men to be constant in prayer. He articulated the Biblical teaching on male headship and the significance of the place of the husband/father as the head of the family. He spoke clearly about the order of the family and of the church. He did not shrink away from the clear teaching of the Bible, but presented it clearly to the men who had gathered.
I could not help but be filled with encouragement from such a wonderful lay-lead Bible study – it really was amazing.
